Review for Amp Energy--Overdrive

CAFFEINE CONTENT

160 mg/16 oz. can

EASE IN ACQUISITION—10

As with just about every product of the Amp Energy line, Amp Energy—Overdrive can be found anywhere.

APPEARANCE/PRESENTATION—8

The design utilizes the familiar Amp Energy format, just garbed in red.  In some cases, clothing the original design in a different color works, in others, it doesn’t; in this case it doesn’t look half-bad.

 TASTE—4

Most of the Amp Energy line at least taste alright; this one shocked me by the fact that it was downright unpleasant.  The advertised “Intense Hit of Cherry” seemed to exist only as an afterthought; and other than that, I can’t really tell you what it was supposed to taste like.  I’m not going to lose sleep over my inability to place the flavor; when the first (perhaps only) word that comes to mind in describing something is “unpleasant,” does it really matter what it tastes like?

KICK (INTENSITY)—6

The kick was not strong, but it was acceptable.  It made a long night drive easier to get done and taken care of, so it got the job done where it needed to be done.

KICK (DURATION)—10

Reflecting back on my experience with Amp Energy—Overdrive the night of, I wasn’t terribly impressed.  I was ready to write it off as just another energy drink to pass over, and leave it at that.  Trying to get to sleep some five hours after drinking it, I found that the keep-you-awake effect just refused to die.  Physically, I was exhausted; mentally, I was in…well, overdrive.  All I could do was lie in bed, thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking….

THE DRINK OVERALL—6.67

Well, even though the taste is something I’d just as soon forget, I cannot say it’s not effective.  If you really need to be awake for that last long haul of the day and don’t care what the drink that does the job tastes like, then I would have to say that Amp Energy—Overdrive might be the drink for you.
